Welcome!

Hello! Happy Spring! So much has been happening at the library it’s hard to know where to begin. I think I’ll start with all of the wonderful grant opportunities that have come our way. Last fall the library participated in the Ready2Read project through the Oklahoma Friends of the Library. In return for our participation the library was gifted $1,500 in books and early literacy program supplies and another $2,000 in actual funds to purchase more early literacy books and supplies.

The library also applied for and was awarded a grant for $5,000 from the Dorothy Louise Kyler Foundation to purchase juvenile books and media. Another grant for $1,000 was awarded from the Oklahoma Dept. of Libraries (ODL) to purchase a new all-in one-color printer for public use. In addition to all of the amazing funding, the library was eligible for State Aid funding from the ODL to supplement our annual budget.

All in all, so far, we have had a great 2023. There have been some much needed improvements made in the children’s area and when all of the ordering is done, we will have added over 500 new books and 31 DVDs to our children’s and juvenile areas. As always, we add new adult books to the collection every month.

I encourage you to stop by and have a look around at your local library and take advantage of everything it has to offer the community.

We have plenty of fresh reading materials for the kiddos to check out this summer when we start our summer reading program in June. Stay tuned for more information.

All of the old book shelves have been replaced with rolling carts.
